Algida Max wanted to emphasize the concept of upcycling and crafting ice cream sticks. When we tackled the project, the question we often asked each other was: “What can be done with an ice cream stick?”
While seeking an answer to this question, the “collect, convert, share” motto of the Onaranlar Kulübü, who has been with our team since the very beginning of the project, guided us. As we meddled with Max sticks, we came up with the idea of creating different figures that we could animate with the stop-motion technique. The best way this message would be delivered was stop-motion.
“The cornerstones of this project were to be able to look at it from different perspectives, to produce with people you care, and most importantly to inspire.”
- Ediz Anavi
During Algida Max’s Upcycling Workshop project, art direction by Türker Akman and animated by Meriç Atalar, we proved that “An ice cream stick is not just an ice cream stick,” and we created a stop-motion world where we turned sticks into flying birds, daisies, violins, and many more objects.
