When our paths crossed with Garanti BBVA, we were aware that we would undertake an out-of-the-ordinary project along with the Turkish Basketball National Teams. Garanti BBVA supports the teams through films like 12 Dev Adam (Men’s), Potanın Perileri (Women’s), 12 Sihirli Bilek (Wheelchair Women’s), and 12 Cesur Yürek (Wheelchair Men’s). We decided to combine various animation techniques as well as live-action scenes to reflect the dynamic and youthful nature of basketball and its players.
We created a detailed animatic so that the athletes could play in accordance with the music, and then we made a demo shoot with our team, right on the field. All these practices proved to us that the film would progress with a good flow and allowed the team to visualize the plot before the actual shoot.
We rolled up our sleeves to create a 2D world in line with Garanti BBVA’s corporate colors, and Baran Baran carried on studies through style frames on how the film would appear.
