It’s not something we see every day for a paint brand to embrace art. When our paths crossed with Nippon Paint, we were excited to shoot a museum film where we could be as creative as we wanted.
In the heart of the city, the Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum (Istanbul Resim ve Heykel Müzesi) meets art enthusiasts daily with its largest-ever collection and Nippon Paint painted all of its exhibition halls. This is where we got involved in this beautiful story.
As we began outlining the film, our visits to the museum gave us the opportunity to see how Nippon Paint's diverse color palette dramatically transforms the exhibits. As we wandered through the museum and exhibition halls, we were fascinated by the harmony of artworks and colours. Thus, the idea of telling the film from a visitor's perspective was born and we decided that Bige Önal was the right person for this character.
"The colours add depth and dynamism to the museum walls, demonstrating the transformative power of colour through the unique emotions and perceptions evoked by different hues."
-Burçin Ergünt
We developed a storyline where, the visitor, Bige Önal’s journeys through the museum's depths, encountering a team responsible for selecting its colours. The narrative unfolds as she explores the co-creation process and the museum, in parallel with our viewers. Our goal was to infuse the film with a sense of mystery, accompanied by stunning cinematography from beginning to end. Each scene was carefully crafted to capture the artistic visuals of the museum.
While we were shooting the film at the museum, we created tens of marketing assets like YouTube interviews, social media loops, photographs, podcast episodes, and more. At the end of the two-day set, we rediscovered art and the museum together.
